We don't just build schools in Kenya - we build the communities that make them work.

DONATE TODAY

Our mission is to help children in Kenya learn, thrive, and break the cycle of poverty through education.

Since 2003, Memusi Foundation has walked alongside children and communities in Magadi — a remote region of Kenya's Great Rift Valley where Maasai families face some of the most severe barriers to education in the country. We provide education, care and opportunity so that every child can learn, thrive and shape a hopeful future.

In Nairobi, we work with street-connected children and mothers — showing up every week with food, with presence, and with the belief that every child, whether in school, in the community, or living on the streets, has the right to a high-quality education and the opportunity to live with dignity, safety and hope.

We work with people and communities who are striving to make a difference for themselves. We don't build and leave — we create pathways that are sustainable, community-led, and built to last long beyond Memusi.

1,800,000 children in Kenya are not in school.

We're changing that.
One community, one classroom, one child at a time.

Change that goes beyond the classroom.

We build schools that put children first - developing teachers, providing resources, and ensuring every child has what they need to truly learn.

Henry's Story.

Henry was one of the first children to walk through the gates of Memusi School. He became our first ever Head Boy — a quiet, determined boy who grabbed every opportunity education gave him.

When Henry left school, he worked in a restaurant to save enough money for university. He studied. He qualified. And then, earlier this year, he walked back through those same gates — this time as a Memusi teacher. He is now mentoring the next generation of children, leading by example every single day.

His ambition is to become a criminologist. Knowing Henry, he will.

"I can't think of my life without Memusi. Through the values instilled in me here, I have developed a strong sense of purpose and a desire to give back to others."
— Henry, former Head Boy and Memusi teacher
